Hi, Im Julia Busby. I’m so happy you found me!!
Now a little about me:
My years of service have allowed me to work with students in special education for over eleven years. I specialize in educating students impacted with autism through direct instruction including life skills, social skills, and behavioral and academic challenges.
At the high school level, I was a case manager for a grade-level team that created one of Oregon's first fully inclusive high schools with varying socioeconomic statuses and special education needs. Currently, I am teaching for a public school district in the Phoenix Metro Area.
I want to extend my education and expertise to teens and adults outside of my current classroom through 1:1 support and access to training in a learning library format.
People with ADHD will also benefit from trainings that focus on growth in both executive functioning and organizational skills.
As an advocate for student rights and needs, I understand the lack of services and providers for people with autism. This is where my ability to teach teens and adults on the spectrum is in dire need.
What are my qualifications to teach you in an online format?
In 2015, I earned my Master of Science Degree in Special Education.
My years of service include teaching in elementary (grades 1st through 6th) and high school up to age 22.
In 2019, I was nominated by my colleagues, students and their families for Teacher of the Year for my excellence in serving students and families in the community I served.
My practice is guided by implementing evidence-based strategies that will assist my students in increasing their current social, life, and executive functioning skills. I will assess and create a collaborative action plan with each student where he or she will work on meaningful goals.
I would love to help people with ASD and or ADHD to live life successfully while building relationships in their communities and increase their potential in the workforce.
Remember, I can meet you where you are.
I reside in the Phoenix Metro Area with my family.
My ability to work with you online through my learning library, group support, and 1:1 programs opens the doors for the support you have previously not been able to access.
I can’t wait to learn more about you and see how my services can help you on your journey.
